Education

Classes are available for children 3-years-old through adult from 9:45-10:45 a.m. on Sundays. Parents are requested to deliver and pick up their children from class.

Preschool-Second Grade, Third-Fifth Grades

Vesta Wallio, Anne Smith and Kathy Kilgore teach preschool-second grade. Crafts, videos and snacks are also provided.

All groups utilize the Bible Zone Alive curriculum.

Middle School, High School

Sixth through eight graders and sophomores through seniors are taught from Bible Lessons for Youth.

Happy People's Class

For adults with developmental challenges. Study, singing and a fun activity and snack are provided during the class. This is a ministry unique to our church and downtown Hampton.

Banner Class

When this class began, the only space available for study was a small room used to store church banners. Since that time, the class has relocated to a larger space across from the Nursery. Couples and singles of various ages make up the class. Members choose material to study and rotate teaching responsibilities. Class sessions include lecture, discussion and interaction.

Crouse Class

Ralph Crouse was the first teacher of the class which bears his name. This class can be found just inside the canopied entrance to the church. The International Lesson Series for Adults by the Cokesbury Publishing Company, is used for study and discussion. Beverly Geer, Ann Gordon Evans, Ed Knight, Eleanor Woodward, Mary Stern and Judy Rushton are a few of the volunteer teachers. Adults of all ages welcome.

Fisher Class

This class is named for the biblical "fisher's of men", members range from 35 to 70+ years. Topics of discussion are flexible and the main source for study is the International Lesson Series for Adults. Additional materials include a video and discussion of early Christian thinkers. "Clouds of Witnesses" and Roy L. Smith's "Know Your Bible Series," that covers who, what, when, where and why of the Bible.

Lindsay Class

Honoring former teacher, C. Alton LindsayMeeting in the church parlor adjacent to the office, the class utilizes the International Lesson Series for Adults by Cokesbury Publishing for study and discussion. Members are 40 to 70+ and all are welcome.

Men's Bible Class

The Wesley Men’s Bible Class is for men of all ages. Several men take turns teaching and lessons emphasize the relevance of the Bible to our present age. Although the majority of the men are senior citizens, the lessons are of interest to all ages – younger men will find the seniors to be excellent role models. Everyone is invited to enjoy fellowship over coffee and donuts prior to the class session beginning.

Samaritan Class

A class for adults of all ages, the Samaritan Class is located at the top of the stairs and to the right from the canopied entrance. Susan Durbin leads the discussion. Text for study is chosen by the class from various authors including Max Lucado and James Moore.

Potter's Clay Class

A class for adults of all ages, the Potter’s Clay Class is located at the top of the stairs and diagonally across from the nursery. Led by Adrian Deleon, study materials walk through the books of the Bible.
