Opportunities for service...
Congregational Care
Congregational Care Committee members provide outreach and support to church members through visits, calls and cards. Teddy Bears are prayed over, sung over and preached over, then given to members in the hospital or in need of special loving care. Annually, an angel tree provides special Christmas cheer to our shut ins. (The committee would like to assess the level of need for a transportation service that would provide rides to medical appointments. If you could be helped by such service or if you have questions, please contact the church office by June 12.)
Education
FUMC encourages folks led to teach Sunday school or lead in bible studies to contact the church office for more information.
Leadership
Volunteer leaders are welcome to participate in the life of the church. Please let the pastor or a church leader know of your gift or interest.
Music
Chancel Choir
Our primary worship choir is open to all who have a love of music as a means of praising God and a willingness to learn. Rehearsal each every Thursday from 7:30-9 p.m.
Hand Bell Choir
Features four octaves of English hand bells. Rehearsal each Thursdays from 6-7 p.m.
Nursery Volunteers
Volunteering to serve as a nursery worker is a wonderful way to serve our young families. All nursery volunteers must be bonded and given a security clearance by Virginia state law. The nursery is provided for infants up to 3-years-old during worship, Sunday school and as indicated in the bulletin.
Prayer Group
FUMC has an active prayer ministry that meets on scheduled Thursdays at 7:30 p.m. in the Parlor to pray for the needs of our congregation, our community, and our world. All are welcome!
